Pembroke Park is one of Birmingham’s true neighborhood treasures. Nestled along North Eton Street and just a short walk from Pembroke Elementary School, the park offers a welcoming space for recreation and community connection. Its amenities include open green space, playground equipment such as swings, slides, climbers, sandboxes, play structures and rockers set over wood-chip surfacing. The park also features a Little League baseball field, picnic tables, two tennis courts, a soccer area, a hard-surface basketball court and a drinking fountain.

In the updated 2024‑2028 Parks & Recreation Master Plan for the City of Birmingham, Pembroke Park has been ranked Priority 2 for playground replacement of existing playground with an inclusive and accessible playground. As part of this initiative, we are planning improvements to the playground area and would love the communities feedback. We invite you to participate in this exciting opportunity and help guide the revitalization of the Pembroke Park playground. Your input is essential in creating a vibrant, inclusive and enjoyable space for all.

The City’s playground designer, Penchura, has prepared two draft concepts for the future playground improvements. A community survey will be available soon for you to review these concepts and share your feedback. The plans will also be presented at the December 2, 2025 Parks and Recreation Board meeting. After gathering community input, the Board will review all feedback and make a final recommendation to the City Commission. Please check back soon to participate in the survey and share your ideas for the future of Pembroke Park.
