Why were Poppleton Park and W. Lincoln Well Park eliminated as potential sites for Pickleball courts?
Both of these sites were eliminated based on further site evaluations.
At Poppleton, the only viable option for Pickleball is a conversion of BOTH tennis courts into 6 Pickleball Courts. This is due to the intent of the Poppleton Park Concept Master Plan, budget constraints of building new courts in an area other than where the existing tennis courts are located, and proximity to neighboring residents. It was determined that the loss of 2 Tennis Courts from the park system is not acceptable to accommodate Pickleball.
West Lincoln Well Park was eliminated based on lack of parking and the proximity of the neighboring residents.
